Pursuing the craft of woodworking is a wonderful and rewarding endeavor. Many folks have interest in learning woodworking or expanding their skill base, but they don’t know quite where to start. Do any of these apply to you:
- Woodworking is something you have always wanted to try, but you are not sure how to get started
- You have some woodworking experience but are looking to gain more skills
- You have an interest in setting up a shop and acquiring tools, but need advice (what tools to start with, optimizing space, project sequencing, etc.)
If so, please contact me and we’ll work together to design an experience that is right for you.
I offer an introduction to woodworking class where we work together to craft a wood letter opener. During this 4 hour session, you will receive personalized instruction on shop safety, wood selection, workflow, and more. You will have the opportunity to use many types of woodworking tools:
- Miter saw
- Table saw
- Bandsaw
- Drum sander
- Belt sander
- Chisels
- Hand planes
- Hand sanders
During our time together, we will discuss the types of equipment we are using, and you will leave the class with a finished product, and more importantly, the knowledge and experience to jump start or guide your pursuit of this rewarding craft.
Cost for intro class: $200
If you desire other shop instruction and/or consulting, please contact me for more details.
